The Slug King Barry was a slug most exaltedperfume But very quickly his reign was halted They found him on the ground A slimy mound Barry, it seemed, had been a-salted Written by [Mortified Penguin] | The Life of a Muffin Roasting, rising and ready to arrive, The muffin did smile in its warm baking hive. Till one day a child, Oh so rabid and wild, Devoured, quite happily, the poor thing alive. Written by [Rice] |
2011-04-24 [Akayume]: I haven't written a limerick in yeeears. Ofta.
2011-04-24 [Lord Josmar]: First entry!
2011-04-24 [windowframe]: [kians mummy] your entry does not follow the correct format for a limerick, please change your entry to make it a limerick. :)
A limerick has five lines, and a rhyming scheme of AABBA (so the first, second and fifth lines need to rhyme with each other, and the third and fourth lines need to rhyme with each other)
2011-04-24 [kians mummy]: is that better
2011-04-24 [windowframe]: Yes. :)
2011-04-24 [kians mummy]: so, when will i get my badge x
2011-04-24 [windowframe]: X_X Badges are awarded after the competition is closed and after the winners have been announced. In the case of poetry contests announcing the winners can take several weeks because a group of judges discusses the individual merit of each entry before coming to a conclusion as to who the winner is.
2011-04-24 [kians mummy]: Note:
Up to three limericks (depending on the number of entries) will be picked out by the Council among all those presented. Participants will receive green worm badges, and the winner(s) will receive a coloured version of the same.
so that is after the compertition they will recieve that badge
2011-04-24 [windowframe]: Yes. :) Because obviously, we don't know whether you need the green badge or the full-colour badge until after we've chosen the winner.
2011-04-24 [kians mummy]: you could always change it, plus your a participent and a winner with both badges
2011-04-24 [windowframe]: No, the badge gets upgraded, you don't get two of them. Badging each person as they enter and then changing some of their badges if they win is a lot more work for us than simply waiting until all entries are in and the results are known, and then badging on one go. This is how badging for every contest on Elftown has been done.
2011-04-24 [kians mummy]: well some badging are like that though.
2011-04-24 [windowframe]: Like what?
2011-04-24 [kians mummy]: where they give them there participents badge first, as it inspires them to do more, but never mind
2011-04-24 [kians mummy]: i just think its a good idea thats all
2011-04-24 [windowframe]: The only competition that is badged in that way is the Council Portrait Gallery Competition, because it is ongoing and thus never has an end (it also doesn't have 'winners'). The Main Street features are badged in the same way for the same reason - they're never ending. For competitions that have a specific deadline, badging happens after the deadline. By entering you've earned a badge, for definite, you just haven't received it yet, and the phase is not yet determined.
2011-04-24 [kians mummy]: ok, no worries
2011-04-24 [Linderel]: Trin, what's "sitar"? :o
2011-04-24 [Triola]: An instrument :)
2011-04-24 [Linderel]: *googles* Oooooo. Okay. :D
